1 week. 2 months. 2 years.

Changing the route you are already on in life can be one of the scariest things you will ever do. Many will advise against it. A lot will scold you but if you have reached the point of no return this is for you.

Finances

The number 1 thing in every change of space, craft and learning new skills is finding the time but more importantly money. It is not cheap. Start saving 5% of your salary towards this for a minimum of 6 months and you will be surprised at how far that goes.

Education

Creating a time and space you can learn your newly vested skills is paramount. Giving 10–20 minutes a day is nice in the ideal world but real sacrifices will have to be made.

Networking

If you do not know more than 20 people in your space then you have some work to do. Going to loads of meetups (meetup.com), unsolicited LinkedIn adds every single day and visiting offices/environments you want to be in really make the difference.

PMA

If you have understand the gist of all of this it is hard, very hard. No lies or held back punches here. However it is possible. Just because you are swimming against the current does not mean your sails will be ripped apart. A positive mental attitude can carry you through on the days your ‘passion’ takes a day off.

So stay vigilant. Stay focused. The journey is an arduous one but if you live life to your own beat you can create great music.

Be Super.
