Dealing With Disappointment

The mis-alignment of expectation

Work.

Love.

Friendship.

Hobbies

Passion projects.

It exists and permeates through them all. In every corner, of every achievement lies it’s seed. It feels inevitable. It takes a moment of weakness. You falter. You succumb to it. The ‘I’m not good enough’s’. The doubt. They plague you. Like an infection they erode the progress you have made. Now there is nothing. It is silent. Dark. You are now in a room with the monster you have culminated.

This happens to us all

If there is only one critical thing you can take away from this is it is not a unique experience. I am sorry. You are blessed with being the only you in the world but in this scenario we all have tasted disappointment.

Many retreat into their shells, never going further than arms reach, this is fear. That is ok. We all feel this. How we deal with it and use the information it provides though? Difference is day and night. This is an option. Albeit not the most effective in terms of attaining a spectacular life.

Then there are those who are constantly in fear and constantly disappointed. The scariest of all. You find comfort in your woes. In mediocrity. Never analysing the ‘why’s’ and ‘what’s’. Taking life for what it is.

How can we move forward from this?

It’s simple. Fall in love with failure.

Not just falling in love with it but really analysing WHY it happened and consciously thinking of all the variables. We are not immune to the feeling YET in 2018 so our strongest response is to accept this as a natural part of becoming a better you.

Do not stop halfway in just accepting. Network. Network. Network. Yes you came on this life alone but you do not have to walk it this way. We live in the age where great information and people are at your finger tips. Use them. Wisely.

The single most greatest weapon you have dealing with disappointment is your heart.

Confidence is born through repeated acts of what YOU deem to be success.

Not others. Measure yourself vs yourself.

Be Super.
