Downtime

So I did the unimaginable…I left social media and WhatsApp for roughly 9 weeks.

My hand blew off and I experienced massive withdrawal.

Is what I would like to say. Not that I have been a really interconnected individual but nonetheless some things were learned.

People are always connected.

To their phones. To the Internet. To something. It was a daunting discovery sitting beside loved ones and friends during dinners and meet ups watching them power away on their devices. The equivalent of reading a book whilst in the company of others.

Free time. Much much more than I could ever have imagined. The minutes, the seconds you feel them all. The amount of books and TV shows that were finished were unprecedented.

Lastly alone time. The thoughts. If you are struggling with personal demons, tribulations, inner disputes it will all be relieved. Being connected presented a veil over the conscious, now it was lifted. Word of the wise, get your affairs in order.

Trivial some of this might sound to some of you but for the newer generations born into this technological age, it is more important than ever to allow ones self downtime.

Be Super
